This medium spreading tree is a coastal plant native to Northern and Eastern Australia and has beautiful showy yellow flowers. The tree commonly grows on beaches or riversides in the wild but it can be planted in your garden as an ornamental tree or as a windbreaker.
Cottonwood hibiscus has many uses, and in Asian countries, this tree is frequently transformed into bonsais. Fun fact: It's bark is just like jute and is used to make strong ropes and even fishing lines. The wood of the cotton hibiscus tree is also ideal for light carpentry and construction work.
